![]() I have read posts in other sites where whole companies (that rely on their BB synching with Outlook) have migrated to Office 2010 and are having some MAJOR problems with this issue.Ĭome on RIM, do something about this. I don´t really care if Nokia purchased the company that develops DM for RIM. but I´m tired of not been able to modify the synch´s settings! I am using the workaround that has been stated several times in this thread. ![]() Pressure keeps building up!! Another week, another seven days without RIM releasing a patch for this!! ![]() Hope that helps? It's not the best solution, but at least doing the install/uninstall will give you sync capability. That tells me that Office 2010 is significantly different enough from 2007 that Microsoft released a video detailing potential upgrade conflicts. Using the Office Migration Planning Manager for the 2007 Office system | TechNet If you remember the Windows Vista 圆4 fiasco (all 3rd parties taking about 6 months + after release for drivers and programs), then we can also assume it'll take RIM a few months to get a new compatible BBM out. My assumption is that the introduction of Office 2010 圆4 will necessitate a Blackberry Desktop Manager 圆4. I'm assuming that it'll install the legacy files needed (or config whatever needs to be altered.sorry, haven't looked too much into the issue since it's solved for me and I've been really busy lately). Trying to contact them is like trying to contact the White House. My best advice to you would be to do a search (Google, Bing, etc.) for "Office 2007 trial" and try downloading that, install and run Outlook once.then just uninstall. I also do not have the option of trying to add on a version of 2007. Microsoft's own blogs, tech articles and site even points out that users should NOT upgrade to 圆4 Office unless they really need the access to RAM.Ĭhoose the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Microsoft Office - Word - Microsoft Office Of course, you can choose to be skeptical and just wait for a release from RIM.however long that may be. I solely use the RTM Office 2010 now and can sync just fine. I have a clean install of Windows 7 圆4 with Office 2010 x32 and did the install/uninstall work-around and can 100% confirm that this works (both with the beta Office 2010 and RTM Office 2010). This is just my experience from using a 64-bit environment since the Windows Vista beta releases. If those files have been upgraded to work with Outlook 2010, they will not be backward compatible with Office 2007 pst files.I pointed out a few posts ago that 圆4 Outlook will (most likely) not be compatible even while using the work-around.especially since there was no 圆4 Office 2007. RIM does not depend on Office connectors RIM has it's own software to connect to the PST files. And even it it does, RIM will not support that kludge. If someone on the RIM staff lost his brains in the phone wars, they should replace him and get moving.īy the way, I am skeptical that reinstalling Office 2007 then uninstalling it will work. So my suggestion is let's all badmouth RIM on Youtube and blogs until they get their act together. There is absolutely not excuse for there not being at least a beta version of the DM to handle Outlook 2010 by now. Microsoft gives out early versions of products like this so that vendors can test and upgrade before the release. I'm particularly angry with RIM right now because they knew this was coming. I got a run-around from RIM tech support when I inquired about the expected date. Apparently the Desktop Manager does need an update to recognize Outlook 2010, and RIM does not have it yet. So OK when I saw that BB Desktop Manager 5.01 could not see Outlook 2010 I opened a case with Blackberry. Blackberry has it's own version of connector. Anyway, blackberry does not use Outlook Connector to connect to Outlook - it never did. I dropped all my and accounts are converted to pop3 accounts and uninstalled Outlook Connector forever. Second, I haven't used Outlook connector in a long time. And the ribbon has been extended to all applications including Outlook. It's at least three times as fast as Office 2007. I don't sync my BB with Outlook very often, but I tried the other day after I replaced Office 2007 with Office 2010 圆4.įirst let me say that I love Office 2010 圆4.
